drunk driving is one of the most POS things a person can do

It is, and I have a DWI from 1994. Still feel guilty about it, actually knew the cop who pulled me over. I’m actually grateful, had another 2 miles on a highway before being at gf (at the time) house. Had an entire 1/5 of Jack in my system. Driving 20 mph riding the ditch in a 55 speed zone.

Thankfully it was late at night but could have been a disaster for someone else, or myself, someone else more importantly. I didn’t drink for 10 years after. I do a 1 drink every 2 hour rule now, just to be sure, but only will drink at nice sit down restaurants I know we will be at for awhile

Damn man, glad you saw the light. I was lucky enough to not get a DUI but haven't done it since I was 20. I don't drink unless I'm home or have a ride home planned ahead of time. It's completely avoidable.

If you had run over someone people on here would be calling you an irredeemable POS who should be shot. That’s for doing nothing different than you did, but to have the misfortune of someone being where you drove in your drunkeness. Instead they are upvoting you. It shows how emotional most are about justice.
