Those dumb motherfrickers will argue that once she was dead the guy want a threat to anyone else. It’s a variation of “he mighta robbed that store with a gun but he wouldn’t shoot nobody”. Now it’s “he was only after her and wasn’t gonna hurt nobody else.”

I guess a district attorney will have to decide whether to bring charges. But I wouldn't be surprised to hear variants of the above quotes.
