The ocean and ice caps release it when the temperature rises. Those are the 2 biggest reservoirs of co2. They absorb it when the temperature goes down

The liars in the 70s had to switch to warming as the whole freeze thing never happened. Most of the temperature changes have little to do with humans i.e. the Sun. (cycles)

Of course, this planet is probably overpopulated for a variety of reasons, but that is topic for another time.

Basically, they're setting everyone up for reset and mass exterminations.
