Play it all the time. It's the best semi public in the area. Hermitage has fallen off a lot lately and Gaylord is way more accessible/convenient.
Mostly Links style with a couple very cool holes. Fast, tough greens with decent amount of break/slope.
Highly recommend.

Thanks for reply. Have a tee time next Saturday looking forward to it.

Played about this time last year. Really fun layout. I've also played both courses at Hermitage but that was a couple years ago. You'll enjoy Gaylord Springs

This is excellent news.. Gonna be at the Gaylord the 1st week of July and from the course flyover online it looked really nice.. Gonna tryband play it a couple time while we're there.

Hate to hear that. Love the President’s course there.

Same. Maybe its just a function of it getting hacked up and over played but the greens conditions have noticeably declined on a lot of holes.
Still a great course, just have been a little let down dropping $100 compared to Gaylord.

the flood earlier this year certainly didn't help either. Half the course was underwater

I haven’t played Hermitage in about a month but seemed fine to me the last few times I’ve played it. Was it that nice prior? I’ve only been here for a year.

Good point, seems like it also did some damage to the fairways at Gaylord that line the river.
I'm probably being dramatic as main beef with Hermitage lately is one of the dudes in the clubhouse is an absolute prick for no reason. In the past they've been super laid back and cool but this newer guy is next level with attitude for no apparent reason.

It's still really nice, no doubt. President's used to be as close to "immaculate" as any public course I've played. Poster above may have a good point about the flood.
I think General's is hosting more and more high school teams and that is having an impact as well.
Both courses are still awesome, I just prefer the experience at Gaylord (practice area/driving range/layout/proximity to my house) over Hermitage.
Two Rivers is also pretty nice for a Muni if you haven't played it.

I haven’t played two rivers, but play McCabe quite often since it’s close to my house. I will have to check it out.

I’d check out Greystone in Dickson. It’s a bit of a hike if you’re in the city, but it’s a great bang for your buck course IMO.

Zoysia fairways and great layout. Second this one.
Also, Montgomery Bell is a great course if you're out that way and also very reasonable.
