I have been using the same weber kettle for about 15 years, and I grill often. Personally, I wouldn't get anything smaller. The 22" kettle is 380 sq. inches. It seems overkill when you're just doing 2 steaks, but I often have peppers, pineapple, corn, or bread going while I cook. It can fit a brisket or a 10lb bag of leg quarters.
I would buy the performer and never look back.
I just can't be convinced that a ceramic is $1000 better
At the risk of getting roasted, this was the first brisket I cooked for the full time on my kettle.
