Trades training.
Cursive (which really had no value).

I agree.

If I remember correctly, in middle school we took a class just on writing cursive. We started with writing each letter in the alphabet. Then words and then sentences and it was repetitive and we used to have homework all the time in which we had to just write the same thing over and over.

It got to a point where I would always get in trouble because I wouldn't complete my assignments because I didn't need to keep writing.. I knew how to do it and it just seemed pointless.

Cursive needs to be practiced in my opinion. If you go around not writing in cursive you'll look uneducated. I've worked on my signature many times, many times in class.
