Probably because he realizes the young talent behind him and doesn't believe he can or doesn't want to compete for the starting job under what? His 5 different OC?
LSU isn't going to just turn it around next season either, it's smart of him to see if he can find an established offense that needs a qb

I hope that Nuss can get it together. God help us if Howard decides not to come to LSU. Haven't there been some rumors circulating that he's having 2nd thoughts? After this season ends, I don't want to see Johnson under center again unless it's in mop up duty.
