To put it in perspective, they have around 500 hospitalized patients and less than 100 patients in the ICU for the whole country. That’s there “surge”. My hospital alone had more than that just a few weeks ago. I don’t think that really qualifies as “massive”.

They have 5 million people in the entire country.
If that were in Louisiana they would be fear mongering the shite out of us rt now. Probably telling you to mask up in your house.

To put in real perspective try applying on a per capita basis (30% higher than Florida) & realize Ireland has an increase in cases of 90% in the last three weeks.
By any measure a 90% increase is what the top half of the common sense food chain would refer to as "massive" and in fact "bigly" would be an understatement.
