Thanks for that. Helpful. I was hoping to get out a scout a spot and learn the area but life got in the way. Any knowledge on just camping out there? Dispersed? or does it have to be in designated sites?

Kisatchie takes work like any other public land, but if you put some leg work in, you will find deer. I've seen them all over the Evangeline Unit. The hurricanes have done a number on the place over the last few years, but not nearly as bad as the Vernon Unit.
Either-sex rifle is this weekend. I plan to be up there Saturday afternoon and Sunday. I'm no expert on Kisatchie, but if you want some pointers and you're hunting this weekend, maybe we can meet up.
