If you are going the DIY route then go then I would suggest going with the Sport Dog brand system especially for larger dogs. Much better built unit that will last a while. I went through a couple of petsafe models before i switched and there is a clear quality difference. Sport Dog also allowed me to fence off a much larger section of my property since it has a more powerful signal.

Fun fact: Some of the petsafe collars are compatible with sport dog system if you need to mix and match. The sport dog collars have a 9v battery so they are essentially the "stubborn dog" collar from pet safe. 9v Batteries last a long time and are cheaper than the pet safe proprietary batteries. I also have a pet safe collar for one of my smaller dogs on the same system.

Rent a cable installer from a rental place or Home Depot if doing this yourself. I did 10 acres in half of a day. makes easy work of it.
