Hello Who Dats & Who Datettes and welcome to the week 7/game 6 thread.
That was a nice, refreshing week off, wasn't it?
And now your favorite football team and mine is back from its bye week. While several key players were designated to return from injured reserve over the week, they have not come off of the IR list yet and it remains to be seen if they will be prior to the game. Of course, I'm talking about the likes of Kwon Alexander, Ken Crawley, Marcus Davenport, & Wil Lutz. The offense will still be missing Michael Thomas, Taysom Hill, Deonte Harris, and now Chris Hogan decided during the bye week that he was done and retired (again) while the defense will be without Payton Turner. (ETA: Afternoon Pregame Update - Marcus Davenport, Kwon Alexander, & Tre'Quan Smith all activated from IR and ARE EXPECTED TO PLAY!!!!!)
But the Saints opponent tonight is facing its own injury issues... particularly at the most important position on the field... quarterback. But the Saints don't need to look far to remember the damage a back-up QB can do. Just two seasons ago at Seattle, the Saints went in with Teddy Bridgewater under center instead of Drew Brees and left the Pacific Northwest with a win few expected. So the Saints can't take Geno Smith and the Seahawks lightly.
The Seahawks are a desperate team, trying to dig out of a 2-4 hole in the ultra-competitive NFC West that features the league's lone undefeated team in the Arizona Cardinals and the 1-loss Los Angeles Rams. While the 49ers are also down there at 2-4, the Seahawks are trying to not lose anymore ground to the two teams above. Same can be said for the Saints, who already find themselves 2.5 games back of the Bucs and just 1 game up on the basement-dwelling Carolina Panthers. So both teams need wins, and quickly.
LET'S ADD MORE RAIN ON SEATTLE AND SEND THE SEAHAWKS OUT TO SEA!!!!!
Injury Report:
NO- (players on IR - like Lutz, & Crawley - won't be listed here)
Dwayne Washington - Neck - OUT
Deonte Harris - Hamstring - OUT
Taysom Hill - Concussion - OUT
Payton Turner - Calf - OUT
SEA -
Alex Collins - Groin - QUESTIONABLE
Damien Lewis - Shoulder - QUESTIONABLE
Darrell Taylor - Neck - QUESTIONABLE
John Reid - Knee - QUESTIONABLE
Weather: It's going to be a wet one tonight it looks like, then again, it's Seattle. Looks like a 70% chance of rain tonight with temperatures in the low 50s and winds out of the south around 15-20 MPH. Sounds like a good night for Kamara to go wild on the ground.
Uniforms: Going back with the white jerseys and black pants tonight on the road
Current Standings:
NFC South:
Buccaneers 6-1
Saints 3-2
Falcons 3-3
Panthers 3-4
NFC West:
Cardinals 7-0
Rams 6-1
Seahawks 2-4
49ers 2-4
Betting Lines: Saints (-4); O/U 41.5

I thought smith and Davenport were taken off IR

they're still listed under the IR section of the Saints roster page
ETA: I'm pretty sure they were 'designated to return' from IR... but actually haven't been taken off of IR yet... they have 3 weeks I believe after making that designation and actually putting them back on the active roster
the team could still do that prior to tonight's game, it just hadn't been done yet prior to me making this thread
ETA2: as noted above & below... Kwon Alexander, Marcus Davenport, & Tre'Quan Smith were in fact activated off of IR this afternoon and WILL PLAY tonight vs. Seattle

Guess this means no Lutz? And any news on McCoy and Armstead?

they have no injury designation from the Saturday injury report... so they are good to go and should play tonight
ETA: that's talking about McCoy & Armstead
Wil Lutz is still on IR
Plus the Saints recently signed a kicker off another team's practice squad... which means he must be on the Saints active roster for like 3 weeks or something like that and that's who will be kicking tonight
