Breaking Bad was a rare exception. Relatively few seasons, and they could have milked it for a season or two more.
But they kept it tight, just long enough for Walter Wight to complete his descent, with a bit of redemption at the end.
Sopranos went on a season too long. Though it's still my favorite.
