Speaking for myself I understand football. I can look right now at USC and see that they are a very good team.

Did you feel the same way last year after USC handily beat Nebraska early in the season? The media love fest was at an all time high after that game, much like this year after the OSU game. Again, it's much too early to be reserving a spot in the BCS game for USC.

The same way Ohio St. was head and shoulders better than everyone else in 06 huh? Look, I can tell USC is a great team also, but its a little early to think they are the absolute best. There are a few teams who could beat them.

The fix is in. The powers that be, (whoever the hell they are) can't wait to get USC into the championship game. What we did last year is punch USC ticket to go into the game even if they have 2 loses. It will be interesting to see what they do with an undefeated big 12, big 10 (Penn St.) and SEC team!

Sadly, you may be correct. Now if USC, Notre Lame, or Bama has 2 losses, they can put them in the game and no one can bitch about it.

First off none of us knows how many ranked teams will end up on anyone's schedule. Secondly if a pollster believes that USC is the best team why would he/she drop them

OK preseason how many ranked teams were on USCs schedule?
Also saying that you "understand" football and then saying that USC is a "good team" and LSU is not is a contradiction. USCs whole schedule this season is not nearly as impressive as the win LSU pulled off vs a VERY GOOD AU team

Everyone is just assuming OU beats Texas, Kansas, Texas Tech, and wins the Big 12 CG against (most likely) Mizzou ?

They lost to Tech and Colorado last year (granted it was on the road), and got crushed by WVU. I think they are a great team and they play TTU and Kansas at home, but it's way to early to just assume they go through the Big 12 unscathed.

This is true. They will live up to the moniker, Chokelahoma.

You'd have to be blind to say that and mean it.

There is absolutely no way that an undefeated SEC team doesnt find its way into Miami on the 7th after our last 2 NC appearances.

I hope, especially after Oklahoma's 0-4 showing in BCS games over the past 5 years. But I honestly can't fathom how Oklahoma gets ranked ahead of the top SEC team right now. Each year, the pollsters drink the same damn koolaid, forgetting the past years.

USC wont run the table they will blow an easy game. OSU cant win a bowl game. Funny how everyone forgets these facts.

USC had the longest winning streak in a few decades just a couple of years ago, so because of the past two years it's a given they will drop a game they shouldn't? Funny how everyone forgets that.

It is certainly too early to tell, there is still a shite-ton of football to be played. It is college football so of course shite is gonna happen, teams are gonna lose to teams they shouldn't etc,,,,

Not a contradition at all. I didn't say LSU was not a good team, to me I still can't tell yet. Certainly they have great athletes, but I do put alot of stock into QB play. Also I really don't think much of Auburn. I don't think much of Crompton or Tennessee either but I did bet them at +6.5.

We will see the season is not going to pan out perfectly, it never does.

Really? Why is that. LSU has extremely questionable QB play, and a questionable secondary. At least how I see it at this point. When LSU plays a team that is proficient at throwing the ball, I very well could be convinced that LSU is a great team.

Right now I take Georgia over LSU in Tiger stadium without thinking twice.

Very well put. Goes to show you how screwed up pollsters are. I'll go so far as that most of them are stupid in what they are chartered to do.

It is simple...
1. hope for an SEC team to win the SECCG while having only one loss.

2. Hope USC and Penn and OU everyone else has one loss as well.

One loss SEC goes. SEC is the best conf. according to the media. So equal losses and tougher schedule puts us in.

That's a reach...especially after last week. I know to assume that a freshman QB can maintain that level of excellence we saw in the second half would be expecting a lot but if he can give half of that, with the play-makers we have...it's pretty obvious we have a very good team.

TEAM, dude, TEAM. I didn't say we didn't have any question marks.

The odds of an undefeated SEC champions look very slim. All the favorites play each other this year, and the best two get to do it all over again in the SEC C.G.
