Problem with my cell phone

I have a Samsung S5.. Yes I know it is old as dirt. It has been working flawlessly since I have had it.. Recently it has been dropping calls. I called Verizon and they say it is not a problem on their end. I reset the phone back to factory settings and that didn't help.
It goes into roaming at various times. When it does have a good signal and I hit send for a call the signal drops to one bar. The battery takes a full charge. Any ideas?

Wild guess without any research.... Maybe Verizon is changing frequency bands in your area that your S5 doesn't cover due to 5G updates ?

Thanks for the input.. I went to the Verizon store and they looked at my phone did a few things and said that I needed to be connected to the their internet to make phone calls. I looked at the guy like he was full of shite.. And he was.. I told him that I have used the phone for years w/o having to be connected to the 5G or whatever internet network.. I am calling ..AGAIN.. to see if I can get a free phone..

Captron makes a good point. It very well could be that new tower hardware isn't meshing with a device that old. I have had similar connectivity issues in the past and had a bad sim card. A crazy thing to stop working but a new one fixed my issue.
It's a Longshot but if you've recently installed any updates it may be worth rolling them back.

They sent an update that killed my S4 last Thanksgiving morning. Back it up and be ready. They gonna get ya!
