He had negative yardage against Auburn. I would rather have Keiland williams run then Murphy. Thoughts?

Thoughts?
was it bad blocking and defenders meeting him in the backfield, or was he turning to go in reverse and lost yards that way?

I simply don't see what everyone else seems to be saying about Murphy. There is not one play which has impressed me since he has been here. What am I missing? Talk to me people.

I hate how people take one game and completely blow it out of proportion.
The same can be said about RM's spring game performance as well

I don't think you can compare things that way. Those guys are running completely different plays at different times in different situations. Not to mention, the defense sets up differently. I think I'm trying to say that something is different...

Have to disagree with you there. Keiland is afraid of contact and Murphy isn't. Murphy just made one bad run where he turned outside and tried to outrun everybody. Not to mention he only carried the ball twice. It's kinda hard to get many yards when you're not carrying the football.

Murphy will open up. We have the luxury of having multiple backs. Murphy will play well against a different type of opponent. We had to pound the ball against AU, and Murphy is an around the corner type of guy. He'll be fine. GC will use him effectively; he was just testing the waters with him during the AU game.

His legs are always moving but he doesn't seem to go anywhere. He tries to cut it outside and run East-West instead of hitting the hole like Scott doesn. I understand he is more of a change-of-pace back but I just haven't seen it. I've heard people say he is our Reggie Bush-style guy but he has a long way to go to be mentioned in that company. I hope the guy ends up being a great player for us but as of now, I don't get it.

First 2 games he had postive yards. 36 and i think 24.

I think for him and KW to get better they need consecutive carries. Its hard for anyone to get into a rythm when you get one play this quater and one more the next.

Yea they definatley need for then 2 carries. Thats understandable.

Before the game, I made a post titled "Release the Beast...Richard Murphy". Well, guess I was wrong on that one. hah. I still love this guy. He hasn't had many opporunities yet, but hopefully they will come. I like his speed, and I like how he looks for a DB to run-over. The guy is tuff. I think a lot of people will be surprised at his ability once he starts to get more playing time.

I'M SORRY RICHARD MURPHY...BITCHES, HAVE SEX WITH RICHARD MURPHY!

Murph's running is more east-west, not north - south. His skill sets don't match up well with Auburn's smallish, fast defense. They could run him down at the edges where he excels. Against Moo St. and South Carolina, I bet he will return with a vengeance.
