They played well against Auburn... you have to cheer for your team.

Poor them but I understand the feeling.

BTW, Croom deserved to be fired. No excuse for losing to La. Tech.

I don't put all the blame on Croom. Do you know how hard it is to recruit at that school?

That's downright depressing - from an MSU perspective.

BUT, I pray that LSU will NOT overlook this game. Should they win? Absolutely? Is it likely that Moo State could sneak up on them? Not really.

Still stranger things have happened...

How about a coach that can coach up the players he has. The school isn't any worse than LSU. Sure it's the middle of nowhere, but as far as small southern towns go, it's pretty nice. It's not Athens, but it doesn't have to be.

Also, we had a pretty good class going -- until the season started. I hope we can retain half of those guys.

It's no harder than recruiting to La. Tech, Tulane or MAINE!

Let's face it, Croom has done some good things, but his offense is horrible. There's no excuse for not having one shred of offense in his fifth year at the school. I know they don't have a QB, which is a recruiting issue, but they have some good RBs and a decent OL from time to time. There has to be some way to scheme that so that you can score more than 14 freaking points on Louisiana Tech.

And last week, even his defense looked horrible. Ga. Tech is no offensive juggernaut, but they ran all over the Dogs. Croom had absolutely no answer against the option attack. That Ga. Tech coach would have beaten them with Navy's players.

Croom has to adjust to the personnel he can get if he can't get better personnel. Mississippi State has never been mistaken for a powerhouse, but they have also not been the type of team that goes 2-10 or 3-9 on a regular basis, either. Ever since the '70s, when I got old enough to start keeping up with college football, MSU was a tough, hard-nosed team that you didn't take for granted. They were pure misery for us in the late '70s and early '80s. Now, they're a cakewalk for us, although admittedly they've become a tough out for the likes of Auburn and Alabama.

He can't build an LSU there, but he should at least be able to restore them to historical MSU status.

That said, he did that last year, but seems to be struggling badly this year. If I were in charge at MSU, I'd give him a pass for this rebuilding year, but 2009 would be "win or else".

This is really funny- In response to the standard surrender icon

"I don't really think that throwing up underwear on a stick will cut it..we will have to move on to drastic measures..bus breakdown on I-55 comes to mind then call it in from the road as a forfeit. LSU can still play on ESPN2, 1st team vs. 2nd team."
