How many agree that if Jimbo were calling last night's game we would have not made that comeback due to conservative playcalling? Crowton definitely mixed it up on the road unlike Jimbo!

Just kidding. For an example of Jimbo, see Wake Forest 12, FSU 3...

We would have ran draw plays on all of the 3rd and 10's that we converted passing

I just remember how people stated that Fischer wanted out of LSU when Miles came in.

It was always the other way. Miles wanted Crowton from game one. He basically took JF's play calling away from him after the UF loss in 2006. LSU has gone, what, 26-2 (?) since- with two loss in triple OT.

Miles knew we could do batter than Saban's OC.

JF is a decent OC-- he's simply not GC. I honestly belive Crowton is the best OC in the country.

I was never a fan of Jimbo. I also thought he was great at developing a QB, but he is way too conservative for my taste. I have been a big fan of GC since he was at LA Tech.

Coach Crowton, like all good coaches, thinks ahead: his post game comment bout going for the TD in that last drive vs the safe run up the middle & kick the FG is what separates him, and all good coaches, from Joe Fan. He said that by calling that play then, after seeing the DB's crowd the line,in the future the other teams we face, in that sitation, will have to respect the pass, making it easier for us to run if we choose. His other comment that I liked: "I had confidence in JL."

Jimbo was in charge of some of the most productive offenses in LSU history. I didn't hear anybody bitching about his play calling in 2001 or 2003. But now that he's gone to FSU, all the rantards line up to stab in the back.

I don't believe that. Our offensive approach didn't really change after the UF game, that game was more about piss poor execution of the plays he called than the plays themselves. Now if you tell me Les took playcalling away after Auburn, that's different.

I think GC's better, but I think Jimbo gets a bad rap. I seem to remember Jimbo being the one that took some chances against Bama in 05 and a lotta ppl saying Miles wanted to set up for that FG rather than letting JR throw the GW TD. Over the years Jimbo did seem to rein things in, but I don't think it's nearly as bad as ppl say it is.

I think Chow's the best, but Crowton's right behind him.

I never cared for Jimbo. I never bashed the guy but I felt he could be very conservative at times. At times I feel that Crowton might not use all the tools he has as much as he should but this is my opinion and either way this is why he is the coach and I am not. The guy is overall better than Jimbo IMO.
