That's 9pm eastern...why not 7pm cst like they've done for almost every other night game. I don't think I've ever seen a 9pm est kickoff

They do this occasionally each season. There's a 5 PM central SEC game on ESPN also, so the odds of LSU/Auburn actually starting the broadcast on ESPN at 8 PM is unlikely. Broadcast will probably begin online only or another ESPN platform if they don't have another game on at that time.

That’s strange because it happens probably every other year on average, at least.

2007 LSU-Auburn was the same kickoff time. I remember leaving Tiger Stadium after midnight.
