So if a soldier/marine fricks up on the ground and shoots a civilian(s) they are almost certainly being investigated and disciplined.

Nothing. Drone strikes are never held to account because they can’t pin it on a lower enlisted/officer. The strikes are very specific and in this case, probably ordered on that specific target by someone with stars. They are not held to account.
