re: Anyone know what happens to most of the branches and downed trees from a storm?

I know after Katrina hit all along West End Blvd. they had mountains of trash and other areas with nothing but trees.

They had huge industrial chippers eating up those tree trunks and limbs to be hauled off to who knows where.

In my area I've seen some pretty large oak trees being cut up and just piled on the median or curbside to be picked up, and none of it was of any size to use for milling lumber from them.
