It's not comparable. Just pointing out that driving to the dump is not a big deal and I'd rather that than having rotting garbage around my house.

Then help. It's a disaster. You should understand and do something to make it easier. Instead you want all the city workers working extra to get you back to normal. That's selfish. I don't care how much you are paying..

Wasn't Torres trying to take over the waste removal?

Yeah I’m sure the New Orleans city dump is in a nice, safe part of town.

Hell fkn yeah I do. They aren't doing this for free. This is their job and they get paid. It's not like this is an unforeseen event in New Orleans.

IV trucks started showing up in my neighborhood and around the city. Not sure the details of agreement between Torres and Toya. I don't think it can even be disputed that he and his business interests are the only thing in New Orleans that's functional and seemingly efficient.

It's actually a big deal now because the garbage has rotted and most in the city don't have a truck. A lot of this population don't even have a car.

This isn't disaster related. It was bad before Ida. They've had a workforce problem for almost a year now.

what's selfish is collecting tax money from people, pocketing it and then asking people to just do themselves the jobs that those taxes are meant to pay for.

You do understand that they are being paid for this work right? I’m not sure how to even respond to this

Listen up, frick face. This isn't a case of people being lazy. Your yokel-ish bumpkin solution doesn't work for a number of reasons

-People immediately emptied their fridge and freezer when they got home
-They were told to place garbage by the street for collection
-The city dump wasn't available for free to NOLA residents until just now
-So people have bags of discarded food that has been festering in the sun for two weeks, and they are expected to place these rancid garbage bags in the backs of their cars to bring to the dump. And pray that a bag doesn't burst open mid-transit
-The City of New Orleans has let it's residents down so often, they have every right to complain about yet another layer on the shitcake that is living in NOLA.
