Why are they trying to create a vaccine for a group that is not really at risk of dying?

It's fine to try and create it. There are flu shots for children that millions take every year even though statistically speaking children are not "really at risk of dying" from the flu (obviously some do).
The problem is not trying to create it but, rather, if they try and mandate it. The risk to children from things like Covid and the flu just doesn't justify a mandate unless we are just going to do away with any sense of personal healthcare autonomy in this country.
