re: How can anyone not like the LOTR trilogy?

I disagree. It's a very good trilogy, but I think Donkey Kong is the best trilogy ever.

You can ask which of the six films is the best, but of those six there is clearly an inferior entry: Return of the Jedi. Lord of the Rings did it right on how a bunch of little people could take down an all powerful Dark Lord. The Battle of Endor was ridiculous and made the Empire look like buffoons. The only buffoonish thing about Sauron is he didn’t put up a locked door or a troll in front of the entrance to the Crack of Doom in case anyone would try to destroy the Ring, but that is explained by Sauron’s own arrogance that no one could truly resist the power of the Ring (which he’s right to a large extent) and no one would have the balls to destroy it.
