We live about an hour away and my young daughter and I were going to make a run to thibodaux, Houma, Laplace, or hell maybe all three.
What is the best way to help? Contact a church?

Thats a good way to start. There are sites set up all over the parishes handing out supplies all day long.
Props to you and your daughter to helping out.

Thanks, Danilo, exactly what we needed. Hopefully others will see the link you posted as well. We have been pretty fortunate through all of this and I know there are plenty that are still suffering.

Get some of the normal supplies for after a storm, drive south of Houma/Thibodaux or to LaPlace and hand them out to whoever you see working. Folks will be appreciative that they don't have to sit in long lines for essentials while they could be rebuilding their lives.
Or if you don't want to spend that much, churches or just helping someone clean up helps.
ETA: a cold beer will go a long way for a lot of people

Yes there are stations set up everywhere. We dropped off charcoal and water at a church in Montegut Sunday.
