Im all for being a good guy and sorting things out on my own...
But I think I'd sit back and let someone else get fed up enough to tackle that project.
And from your comment, it seems like you could end up hurting yourself trying to do something not in your wheelhouse. Its not worth it.

I have a very healthy respect for chainsaws...not afraid of them but I know what they can do. Only about 6 foot of the tree (and root ball) are actually on land while the top is hanging over/on a neighbors tree that fell from the other side of the canal (it fell first).

Both trees missed the boat lift by 1-2 feet.
