Looking at LSU from a distance- talented but raw team, seeking to establish some identity.

Played a trap game against UCLA, which was better and more experienced than folks expected, and LSU has at that point yet to figure out what works and what doesn't. Severe defensive mishaps lead to a loss, but offense still put up 27 while not being able to run at all.

Game 2, against a cupcake McNeese, defense has time to figure some things out and work out some kinks; offense is shaky but maybe you settle on Kiner as the RB.

Going forward to CMU- want to continue with defense improving, try to establish Kiner as a legit running back, and take pressure off Johnson. Maybe try to run first and go play-action to Boutte, and bring Bech along as the #2 option.

Goal (attainable)- settle in as competitive, 8-4/9-3 type of team, can't challenge Bama but has the talent to play with the rest of the SEC West. Make it to the end of the year looking like '17 or '18 LSU, with most guys set to return for 2022 and make a step up again.

This sounds unrealistic and optimistic to our fanbase, but it's a reasonable perception of the program (if Ed can get his head out of his arse). Not saying I have faith it will happen, but if we can string some wins together and improve each game, it's not out of the question.
