The first time I ate the Memphis downtown location it was a near-religious experience. I ate 1/2 a bird for lunch, and liked it so much that I went back for dinner and ate another half bird. Comparing Gus's to Popeyes is like comparing ice cream to dog shite.

I've been to other locations that weren't quite as good - Austin, for example - but that location is always on-point. I also think it's the best fried chicken in NOLA.

that’s on them. they need to qc their franchisees and not blame customers.

the austin location is not good. too high of an oil temp doesn’t make it spicy.

If I go to memphis I’m not going to Gus’s
