Unsure why Stoops wasn’t mentioned.

Gene Chizik? The thread was about personality, not ability to build a program.

On a podcast around the time Stoops retired, a former OU assistant’s wife raved about Stoops and the culture he’d created at Oklahoma.

Basically said that Stoops losing his father at 28 the way he did (died in the ambulance en route to the hospital after complaining of chest pains while coaching a high school game) affected him greatly, and that Stoops preached family and work-life balance to his coaches.
