Lost 50' of the 80' cedar fence here. By all rights its mine to replace and I was good with that. I explained to my neighbor I will replace the entire fence including both of our gates in the coming weeks.

Being good neighbors pays off...she was widowed about 4.months ago and I have been cutting the grass and general upkeep. Now she insists on paying 50% of materials of the new fence.

We haven't decided if we will allow that or not.... in the mean time our dog is enjoying the expansion to HIS backyard.

Let the widow chip in. Given she’s lonely this will in some small way make her feel a part of something/sense of community.
