Honestly, frick the Colonel in those texts.
He's virtually certain to be past 20 years.
Show some fricking spine, resign your commission and go fricking public.
The saddest thing I learned in my 20+ years is that finding an officer who would actually take ANY RISK WHATSOEVER that might harms his career is about as rare as finding 5 OT 10 redheads that want to blow me at the same time.
Dear lord. ALL these dude who are completely made men and NOT ONE O6 or above could just do the right thing publicly because they're sooooooooo attached to that next star!
