Every fall I have onions, garlic, several varieties of leaf lettuces, Swiss Chard, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussel sprouts, collard greens to overwinter.
I try my best to have some type beans, some cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. that will fade badly if a frost hits, so get them in the ground fairly early but not too early to have to take the heat that is S.E. La. until September if the heat doesn't beat them down even then.

I am only going to mess with pole beans, tomatoes and peppers. I did plant a couple of pumpkin seeds.
But I don't care if any of it does anything. After this hot arse summer, I am over the whole gardening thing.
