Best bang for the buck, and great base if you're going to doctor it up? Barilla.
I use the Tomato Basil Basilica. Few ingredients, no HFCS, good basic basil flavor, and often get it for about 2 bucks. It's definitely what I use when feeding the kids.

Emeril's Roasted Gaaahlic is pretty good.
