Trailer Link

Was added to Game Pass on release day.

It's a game based on a "Groundhog Day"-type situation starring James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe. It took me a while to get the story moved along to the conclusion. I had to look up the final action I needed to take, but it was fun trying to figure everything out and it was very satisfying to unlock the next part of the code to get the story to move forward.

I beat it in just a few hours, but I feel like it's a great addition to Game Pass and has some pretty good replay value. I'm saving most of the achievements for the next time there's a gamer score challenge for Microsoft Rewards. I feel like you could knock out all the achievements pretty quickly with a guide.

I hope they put out more of these. Really good stuff for what is basically a few hour "game break" type of game.

I watched a stream for a few and it seemed pretty boring, then I read the reviews that are just awful and passed. I think IGN gave it a 5.4.

ETA: PCGamer

I can see how some folks might hate it if they can't get through the first few days and figure out how to move the story along, but after that it really draws you in.

ETA: looks like IGN gave it an 8. Review is "spoiler free," according to them, but I did not read it so I cannot say if I agree with them on that. I just looked at the score at the bottom.

Just read that review. I feel like if his main complaint about a game where the entire point is being stuck in a time loop is that "it's repetitive," then maybe games based on time loops aren't for him.

I didn't have any glitches like he did. THAT would have pissed me off.

The ending apparently not being very good or a good pay off is what holds me back. But I'll probably still check it out eventually.

I won't say too much on that because I feel like it would be spoilery. I thought the "true" ending was good, but it was definitely not what I was expecting and I can understand why people would think it wasn't a good pay off.

I've played around with it for a little bit. It's interesting, but ultimately one of those types of games that I just can't put much time into. I think I would be more interested in watching some youtubers run through it than to actually play it more myself. I still have it downloaded, but I'm also working through Hades and Halo 5 right now. I'm also planning to start Psychonauts 2 when it gets released later this week.

I took a break from playing Mass Effect 2 and knocked this out. It really wasn't a very long game once I figured out the first few days.
