Because they are stupid and believe what they are told by the press rather than what they see.
That is the truth.
Trump is mean, he is horrible, etc. 90 percent of reporting on Trump was negative, yet the country, before the pandemic, was better than anytime in the last what, 40 years?
But yet the press made everyone hate Trump.
