No. WE don't. Unfortunately policy is being made on the # of cases. If policy was being made on deaths then we would be celebrating the fact that we have 4.5x the amount of cases as this time last year but the same number of deaths. We're doing better.
But no. Requiring vaccination to attend class, remain employed, and go to events isn't based around severity, its based around limiting the spread. Pointing out these numbers, and the outbreak in Mass, combined with the data the CDC put out regarding viral load being the same in vax & unvax, and the study axios reported on this week of the Pfizer vaccine only being 42% effective against delta, AAAAND the numbers from over seas... put all that together and it just highlights how bullshite all of these mandates are.
