True, but they can make you back up a certain distance for protection.

The cop obviously was being a dick about it but specifically was calling the guy out to back up, not to stop filming.

Threatening the person filming you from a safe distance is never a good look for a cop.

Don't disagree with that at all only thing I would add is that the ones that approached the filmer were two cops that showed up from off camera it's possible they weren't aware fully what was going on and did something extreme?

Either way we should have better context in the up coming days.
