bring back liquid television

This

It became a joke with TRL, but the late 80s early 90s nightly countdown show Dial MTV was peak MTV imo.

I distinctly remember staying up late all summer 1991 to see which of Summertime, You Could Be Mine, Motownphilly, Enter Sandman, Unbelievable, Losing My Religion, Rush Rush, and Everything I Do would finish number one that night.

Great summer of videos and the last summer where videos were the network’s primary focus imo as Real World premiered in 92 along with The Grind and even Choose or Lose during the presidential campaign.

ETA: Shout of to 3rd Bass and Pop Goes the Weasel where they beat the shite out of Vanilla Ice at the end

Ehhh, I think the 90s with TRL, the live spring break shows, a couple dating shows and early real world seasons were the perfect balance of music and pop culture.
