They used to grow around my parents' back yard when I was a kid. Never used to bother me...

we had a pool. One night I went swimming, came out and walked between the table (with an umbrella) and the pool fence. Walked through a web in the dark, and one of those motherfrickers started running all over my back and neck. They're big enough that they feel like a person's hand doing that. Pretty sure you could hear my screams a mile away; surprised nobody called the cops

A friend of mine and I were on my 4wlr looking a a hunting property near Deer Park.
The trails were criss crossed with webs from those big bastiches. In a few minutes I had 7 or 8 crawling all over me. I had been there and done that before.
Dude was screaming like a 2 year old.
I was laughing at him, in tears. Cut a small limb with leaves and jammed it in the front of the wlr. Had to change it out about every 10 minutes.
Haven’t seen that many before or since.
I’ll say this : if they bite, I can honestly say that They have had many many opportunities to do so over many years working and hunting in the woods. They are harmless. Never been bitten.
Most aggravating thing is walking or riding into a large web and having to wipe the damn web and spider off my face.
Used to wear glasses, and that was a pain in the arse cleaning web off them.
Just get a small stick with leaves and wave it in front of you. Replace when loaded!
