re: Businesses in BR that you have no clue how they are still open

For all you Fleur De Lis haters out there, (and I know this is gonna chap some asses), check out the July 2021 issue of 225 Magazine. Their "Best of the Best" cover article lists FDL as the winner in the pizza category with 22.7% of the vote.

"With so much upheaval in the world, there's something comforting about a place that never changes. And we mean never. Fleur de Lis' thin, simply topped pies haven't been altered in decades, nor has its absolute rejection of credit cards."



For the record, I'm not affiliated with the place, but my family has patronized FDL since the early 1960's, though.

I don't believe too many people will straight up tell you it's the best pizza in town. It's just a good pizza and the crowds going in there for decades and decades prove it is a good product. How many pizza places have come and gone over the years, yet this one still packs the house, and has a 2 hour wait on some weekends for pickup? There is definitely a nostalgia factor involved, but that's only a part of the attraction. FDL certainly doesn't deserve the abject hatred it gets from some, and as one poster pointed out earlier in this thread, it strangely seems to be quite a polarizing restaurant. Many love it for what it is, and a few seem to really hate it.


For those who despise it , who cares? Do your thing.

I assume all the other votes were split among pizzerias that earned less than 6% of the votes.
