Regardless of anyone’s personal opinion on the matter, it seems pretty clear that in the absence of a living will his care decisions should be made by his mother who obviously loves him and has his best interests at heart.

It’s fine that his wife doesn’t want to take care of him, but if that’s the case she needs to GTFO and stop trying to profit from the situation. Seriously, if she doesn’t want to participate in trying to help him recover all she has to do is go away.
