Push back

Yeah the people that push this shite aren't prepared for the push back. They're not ready for it simply because for far too long decent people have kept their mouths shut and got along to get along rather than say how they really feel. And I'm not talking about fb and message board comments. I mean shite like this. Real push back against policy makers and organizations. I've heard of daycare in town receiving push back recently over closed classrooms and quarantines and absolutely caving. They're not ready and its beautiful. I just wish this would have come from the 3 people who signed the original letter rather than them hiding behind the bishop- who's name wasn't on it.

Boomers being selfish for the most part

But there is a legit (not from a risk perspective but from a logistics standpoint) position if you are worried about your kid under 12 who is not eligible for the vaccine.

All the Catholic High and St Joe’s folks I know were furious about it so this isn’t surprising

Catholic and SJA don’t follow the BR diocese. They make their own rules. They are owned by the brothers of sacred heart.

My kid is 14 and very likely already had the Rona. Everyone else in the house had it but if she did she didn't have any symptoms. Why should I get her vaccinated? I can't think of any benefits.

You shouldn’t. My post was pretty clear that I don’t think it’s legitimate from a risk perspective- meaning the risk of harm to a child under 12 doesn’t warrant a vaccination.

But assuming a parent wants to vaccinate, there is no mechanism for it right now - do the whole position of “you made your choice, I made mine” doesn’t work in that one instance.

Losing even 500 families from the Catholic grammar schools would be catastrophic for the diocese from a financial standpoint.

However the diocese may already know what the dumbass governor is announcing tomorrow regarding covid. They may be appeasing the masses knowing the hammer may be dropped tomorrow
