You might be missing some features using an unlocked phone with ATT.

This right here.^ My first One+ phone was a factory unlocked unit. I was an AT&T customer at the time. When I took the phone to AT&T they put their Sim in it, but they told me up front that certain features on their network were blocked on phones that weren't locked to them. The only feature I remember that was blocked was video voicemail. A feature I would never use. As a matter of fact I have never met a person that used video voicemail. For what its worth T-Mobile places no such restrictions on factory unlocked phones.

I think you may mean Visual Voicemail, which is the GUI for voicemail messages so you don't have to call in to manage your messages. The other big one that may not work is Wifi Calling, which I rarely use, but have to use at least a few times a year when I go visit my brother out of town. I think there are a couple other features that won't work that may not have been important to me, but the above 2 were enough to be a deal breaker for me on unlocked phones.
