I hooked this new service up last night by plugging my DVR into the router, and this has some serious potential. Right now the content is a little thin but if the library improves this could kick arse.

Once you hook your DVR up (by Cat5 cable to the router or a wireless port) you have access to channel 1000 which is a portal to select content to download on demand over the Internet onto your DVR. You can start watching a few minutes after it starts downloading. Lots of stuff will be free, but some movies and things like UFC events will be at a fee.

I am going to do this next month. Just need to get a wireless router. Do they carry other sporting events like old football games and stuff like that?

right now they carry next to nothing. I hope they add some shite soon. Im stuck with directv for a while and I really need them to give me a reason to not hate them anymore.

So I am guessing this is similar to Cable ONDEMAND? It mos def cool! We use it alot, especially cool if you have HBO, since there ON DEMAND includes loads of movies!

I have DOD and I think I'll use it quite a bit when more HD content is available. Right now though, it downloads pretty slow. Hopefully that will improve (on my end and their's).

That is my major beef with it. I would also like for them to add HBO On Demand.
