Is there a way to add a contact in your iPhone with the same number that already exists in your contacts, but have it show up as a different name?
Example... John Doe is already a contact. But what if I want to call John Doe at that same number, but have it show up as a different name, like I'm calling someone else. Can this be done?
I want them to appear as two totally separate contacts, but they'd have the same number.

I have some people saved with two separate contacts so when I share their contact it is easier to just send their business info. When they call me it comes up as “John Doe or John Doe’s Compamy”. Hope this helps.

add a nickname to the contact. you can tell Siri to do this for you or you can edit the contact manually

Yeah I know of this. And that’s the thing… I want one to say one name and the other to say another name.

Ha! I knew someone would respond with something similar. But no. If this were the case the one contact would be enough and I could just change the name. There’s be no reason to keep the one with the proper name.

I tried adding a nickname but didn’t actually try telling Siri to dial it. After adding the nickname it just shows the nickname under the persona actual name.

For those curious this isn’t the most serious thing. It’s actually for a card trick I showed my oldest daughter many years ago before smart phones, and she now wants me to show my youngest daughter the trick.
So I need to have a contact named “The Wizard” in my phone.
When you dial and the person picks up you simply ask for the wizard (not on speaker phone). The wizard immediately slowly calls out the four suits of cards. When he says the right suit, you cut him off and say “yes I’m calling for the wizard please”. The wizard then starts calling out “ace, deuce, three, etc”. When he says the proper card you cut him off again “yes, hey wizard? Will you tell my friend which card they drew” and you hand them your phone. The wizard names the card and hangs up.
There are other variations of calling “the government” but it’s totally different.
