'Exactly what you would do before being paid' means pouring hours of their life into honing their craft and sacrificing their bodies beyond what any normal student would do while making their school millions of dollars. Banning someone who excels in a huge industry from making money off their likeness under the guise of amateurism seems downright Un-American to me, personally.

If the NCAA wanted amateurism, that went out the window when the big money started flowing in. Now it's time for them to pay the piper.

You missed the point as well. lol it’s not that they don’t work 100x harder than the avg student. It’s just saying that they have 3-4 years of garaunteed exposure and fans. Social media influencers typically do not last that long. Only a few do.

Also, I agree completely with the rest of what you said. I do think they acted off of emotion and pressure and did not think it out fully. This will be absolutely terrible for recruiting and they need to put some type of policy in place regarding recruiting and transfer portal / tampering
