Not saying it can be proven, but this is not some nebulous “throw shite against the wall” accusation.
This is a quite specific charge.

Not really. If you read the complaint, they're basically just tying all of the events they allege together to make it into a RICO type case where they can receive a larger settlement.
quote:
"All defendants, including TAF and the O Rosy Finch Boyz are a group of persons associated together in fact for the common purpose of carrying out an ongoing criminal enterprise," the amendment says. "Defendants committed multiple related acts of wire and mail fraud, including but not limited to solicitations of donations from national and international sources through TAF, who then utilized the funds to pay LSU employees and implement a sexual misconduct reporting scheme designed to keep complaints within the athletic department and away from LSU's Title IX office."
Basically, their whole argument is LSU failed to accurately report Title IX complaints. Adding these elements to the lawsuit allows them to go after TAF, because otherwise they'd have no cause of action.
Literally, the "RICO" charge is that TAF (1) asks for donations, (2) those donations were made to (3) pay employees to (4) cover up criminal activity (no title IX reporting).
It's essentially the exact same complaint they've had since day 1. Now, they're trying to figure out a way to add TAF into the mix for monetary purposes, and this is the best way to do it.
Pretty standard stuff for a civil lawsuit. Find where the money is and go after it.
