Interesting. Because the accent will give you problems on the coasts. When I was a teenager, and moved to Southern California briefly, girls gave me no end of grief about sounding like a hick. Which is funny, because I was FROM Cal, and had moved to the South. And native Southerners didn’t think I sounded Southern.

I had a Yankee lady who lived in BR tell me I sounded like a radio DJ from Minnesota…
I never quite got that one
