For being so renowned as an architect, he really does know how to make boring golf courses. Bayou Oaks is such a boring layout for the cost it is to play (and the cost of the project). His work at BRCC especially fairway bunkering is especially meh. Torrey Pines as we all saw last weekend very meh. Anyways, I feel is just unimaginative and bland like most of his work. I wish the city of NOLA hired a Gil Hanse or King Collins esque architect who would have actually been creative and done something that could have made it a great course for the Zurich. It’s just such a waste of potential of what could have been.

We’ve got enough problems in this city right now. The last thing the govt here needs to touch us course architecture.
I’d play in a field of crabgrass if it meant latoya and her henchmen had no authority over my courses.

I was a teaching professional at 2 of his designs.
Not a fan; I felt like you could blindfold me, take me to a random tee box, take off the blindfold, and I couldn't tell you which property I was on. Seems like every hole was similar.

Almost every hole at Bayou Oaks is bunker at the top of a dog leg and the bunker is 280-300 off the tee.

He is great at Old Men Courses.

I've played some of his better ones and liked them. Cascata in Vegas is a great one, both courses at the Atlanta Athletic club, Ocean Forest, Sea Island are all great courses.
