I've already discussed this earlier in the thread, but there are several reasons why the interpretation of the real presence is not what was intended or taught. Jesus was consecrating the Passover feast and changing the sign of God's salvation of Israel in Egypt by the lamb's blood on the doorpost to the sign of the salvation of His people from sin by the blood of the lamb on the cross. The sign was to point to Christ's act of passive obedience, not to re-sacrifice Himself over and over again. If that were even the purpose, then Jesus' blessing the cup and bread was His real sacrifice on the cross before it actually happened.
