How old was your dog and what exact breed?

Was the kid on your property or was the dog on the kids property.

Well I'm definitely not irresponsible and I dont know if I would have put down the dog.

Depends on how old of a dog, the breed, and other circumstances.

How old was kid, was the kid a known individual to the dog, a family friend, or if it was the first time the kid came on to my property; then I might view it as the dog protecting our property from a stranger: kind of what you would want a guard dog to do.

Plus if young enough, depending on breed, the dog would easily be trainable to not behave in that manner. Although, you really would be training out an important aspect of a guard dogs role.

To many variable to say that if a dog ever bites someone it is put the dog down time.
